Walking for Weight Loss

Hello ladies and gentlemen. This post is for those of you that are walking for weight loss. Walking is a great form of cardio exercise for losing weight, however if you are walking and not losing weight try using a few of these tips to help you out.
1. Pump Your Arms, its all about keeping moving.
2. Shorten Your Stride, it helps you use more muscles more often
3. Stand Up Straight while you are walking, slumping will only hurt your back and body more.
4. Walk Briskly and Monitor Your Intensity, pretend as if you are late for an appointment or trying to catch up to someone or something.
5. Spice Things Up, add in some hills or different terrain to enhance your Walking for Weight Loss Experience

Dad

My father passed away 20 years ago this month and I just wanted to say to those of you out there that still have both your parents to cherish them even if you argue or even if you don't because there are no words to explain the loss of a parent. Every year I try to find a way to remember my dad in a unique way..... this year I wrote him a letter in a christmas card and even though he can't read it I still felt better afterwards...this is what my letter says to him
     Dad,
        Not a day goes by that I don't miss you. It's been 20 very long years. I don't remember much except for the fact that you were wonderful. You were always happy to see me and always happy to play games with me no matter how sick you were even down to the last few days of your life. I will never forget you and everything you taught me. Lena is beautiful I wish you could see her in person. I think of you all the time. We missed you at the wedding. I wanted so badly for you to be there or anyone from your family to be there, but mom was the only one and Jasmine. Aunt Elaine and Uncle Ed were there too. I know you can't be here with us but I'd give almost anything to just have a conversation with you again to be able to hug you again. I hope that you look down and smile everytime you see us. Someday we will be reunited.

You see my dad died of cancer and the last few days of his life he spent in the hospital. I was four years old at the time and the last time I saw him we were sitting on his hospital bed finishing a puzzle book with a yellow high lighter. When it was time for me to go he gave me the book and the pen and the last words I ever heard from him were Spivey don't worry about me I'll be okay daddy loves you and I'll be home for christmas. He gave me a goodbye kiss and then I had to leave because he was too sick for me to be there anymore. I don't remember much after that except for the fact that he never came home for christmas ever again and I remember asking my mom why not. ....

So please let this painful story be a lesson to those of you who take your parents or family for granted you never know when someone will leave this earth. Cherish your loved ones.

December December

While for some this is the happiest month of the year, for me it is somewhat difficult. As much as I love christmas there are definately some things I miss for sure. But I am thankful for what I have and it has been so much easier since I had my daughter because I have her here and she gets to open presents and what not. This year my sister will also be here with us for christmas it's going to be fun.

So I haven't blogged in awhile but I wanted to ask how everyones holiday shopping is going any tips for deals or anything feel free to comment. How many of you have your tree up already? Is everyone excited for the holidays ? Let me know what you think thanks

Movies

Well its been a few days since my last post so I figured I would write something. I love the Twilight movies and it really sucks that today of all days I didn't go to see the Breaking Dawn Movie Part 1 in the theater. I didn't even have the time to buy  tickets ahead of time so I guess I'll just have to catch it another day. This was a disappointment lol but other days will come ....don't spoil the movie for me by leaving any comments about it on here please

A sign of goodness

Well..... I am so excited that I have to tell everyone ..... I heard from my sister last night and she is getting us the money for the house and also that she is graduating marine corp mct training on tuesday. This means that I can really start to pack everything because we will be moved before chirstmas and life will start to get better. I can't wait until she comes home from all this training but I want her to know how proud of her that I am and that I am very happy that she likes being a marine and all. This is gonna be so awesome lol

Waiting

So I have been waiting for my sister to get out of mct training and she only has a few more days left, but it seems to be the longest days of my life lol I feel like a day is weeks long. Thats only because she is helping us with our new house we are going to get and I'm very excited for that..it will be nice to have a yard to play in this winter and all that I'm so looking forward to this move

Well.........I've Been Thinking

Yesterday I cut my hair really short and I totally love it. I wasn't sure if I would like it but it's good. Now I think about all the times that I was hesitant to cut it and I realized how petty it was and that I should have known that it would just grow back. I am starting to settle into the life I have chose for myself. I have no idea why it took so long for that to happen but it's so much easier now that it is. I am getting better at cooking more efficient with cleaning and I'm starting to like the holiday season a lot more than I used to. I guess that having a kid does that to you. I am looking into getting some xbox 360 games for my husband for christmas so if anyone has any good suggestions that would be appreciated. lol How many people have heard about the new shopping hours for thanksgiving day and black friday. It's outrageous that they would open so early so that people would have to leave during a holiday dinner with their family to stand in line to get the good deals. I think it's a scam it's just a way for corporate america to make more money and misery it completely sucks. I do realize that there are some benefits to this change but I just think that it's crossing the line to have stores open on such a major holiday. Oh and also I will be determined to take more pictures to try and help me get into a photography career it's my passion

Never Ending

I just want to say that bills are never ending you think you get enough money to pay them and then you turn around and another one shows up. They destroy your credit because their system forgot to send you the bill or they are not willing to make a payment arrangement. This drives me crazy, its like seriously you are not willing to make a payment arrangment well then screw you because I only have a certain amount of money not my fault that you didn't bill me for six months and then expect a payment in full. Like what the hell world do you live in ... do you think I can just pull money out of thin air really? Ugh all I have to say is bills bills bills they suck

December

I love christmas but I really hate the month of December. It's filled with some painful memories for me. I guess there comes a time when you have to move on with your life no matter how painful it can be. I always find that keeping busy helps which really isn't hard to do in December because of christmas and all that. We still haven't found a new house but we will be looking starting tomorrow to see if we can find a place that suits us and everything we need wish me luck.

Never Enough Time

In the process of packing and taking care of a 1.5 year old I realized that there might not be enough time for me to get everything done. Thus the stressing out begins we still have to go look at houses haven't even picked one out yet and we have to pack everything give our landlord notice that we will be moving to a new place and in the middle of all this the thought of getting a part time job for extra christmas money pops into my head lets see how much I can get done not to mention the fact that I need to get in shape soon..... ugh so much to do I will get it all done somehow it will work
